Appeared today on Comingsoon.net, this rumour involves marine reptiles (!) * I thought I'd just give you a quick update on the fourth installment of 'Jurassic Park'. First of all, for the fans worrying about it not making it for Summer 2005 - it won't. The plan now by the big execs is to release the film Winter 2005 or Spring 2005. Between December-April. The script is being rewritten by John Sayles, but is based on an earlier draft by a man called William Monahan. I can't tell you much about the plot, in fact, I really can't tell you anything. You will be glad to hear a majority of the animals will be marine reptiles. Sam Neill is not returning for this movie, but Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough are. The rumours that scenes have already been filmed are false. There is not even a director signed to the project yet. However, I hear one may be a man by the name of Alex Proyas. I think he made the Crow several years ago. He's still in discussion. For some people the following news is very bad - the Spinosaurus is back! I know a lot of people weren't fond of her, but she'll be badder in this version. The raptors are also back, apparently. Last thing - the Pinewood filming is true except that it is March 2005, not January. James Bond has booked most of the studios so it won't be able to film until then. They also need time to build a massive tank for the aquarium scenes. 02/29/2004 - 09:43- Jurassic Park 4 * Finally some JP4 'rumours' concerning the plot : "...some information has trickled through: Settled twelve years after the origional Jurassic Park, the dinosaurs grown by John Hammond's firm InGen are only a legend. The General public doubts that they have one day existed. Suddenly, nevertheless, there are announcements in Costa Rica where up to now undiscovered animals such as new types of lizards appear and create a danger for the population there. An expert's team goes to one of the surrounding islands of Costa Rica to find out what is going on. What they ascertain, points to a disaster: the already almost forgotten dinosaur's population reproduces in uncontrolled masses and threatens to become a danger for the close mainland. It is a matter of finding a way, of preventing this propagation, or the planet earth is up against an ecological disaster. This should form merely the core of the history, the whole story of the film should become essentially more complicated. Steven Spielberg also does not want to take over direction again, but act exclusively as a producer; indeed, he wants to develop the story. As already with Jurassic park III Spielberg wants Joe Johnston on the direction chair place who has already promised something great. Also scheduled is Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant and Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm together before the camera.... Again, these are only RUMOURS! 05/16/2003 - Jurassic Park 4 In an interview with SCIFI.com Kathleen Kennedy told that the first draft of the JP4 story is completed , and it seems to be very special because the story moves away from the islands to somewhere else , it won't be green and there won't be a jungle , Monahan gives JP a fresh start... But I only believe it when its official.. 10/12/2003 - Jurassic Park 4 From the Billings gazette: Horner worked closely with director Steven Spielberg as a technical adviser on the "Jurassic Park" movies. He told the youths, much to their delight, that he is working with Spielberg on "Jurassic Park IV". He was tight-lipped about the plot but offered up one tidbit of information: "If you like velociraptors, you will love Jurassic Park Four," Horner said to his exuberant audience. 10/17/2003 - 23:58 - Jurassic Park 4 Horner keeps on getting in the news these days... Someone called in with a seemingly odd question for guest Jack Horner on Minnesota Public Radio's Midmorning show. Horner is a renowned paleontologist who has served as an advisor on the Jurassic Park movies. The caller said he remembered something in one of his high school science books from years ago, a drawing of what humans may have looked like if they had instead evolved from dinosaurs. Jack was amused, but didn't really have much of a serious answer. What he did say is very interesting. He said to keep thinking about that for a couple years, and then go and see Jurassic Park IV! So, if he is involved again with the movie, and I would assume he is, then this could be a nice little hint of what's to come! Lizard people? Crazy. Again, these are only RUMOURS! 05/07/2003 - Jurassic Park 4 Word goes around that an unused scene from JP3 (a scene where the Spino stands in a lagoon) could be used for JP4. But this seems to be to much of a rumour because the cast of JP3 was presumably in that scene , which means that they would return in JP4 , and that seems highley unbelievable... 05/06/2003 - Jurassic Park 4 From CountingDown.com : I was one of the many tireless runners lucky enough to be working on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean. Shooting was completed several weeks ago, and I wanted to share a little bit of goss that I was privy to. As you may or may not be aware, some of 'Pirates' was filmed in Los Angeles, California. While we were there, Keira Knightley took half a day off to meet with Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy. Word going around the set was that she is being considered for a role in the upcoming Jurassic Park film, and that Spielberg just wanted to have a casual meeting with her first. Keira later confirmed that the meeting was indeed regarding JPIV, and she might play the granddaughter of the Richard Attenborough character. She said there was no actual agreement made, but Spielberg definitely has her under consideration.
