05/06/2003 - Jurassic Park 4 From CountingDown.com : I was one of the many tireless runners lucky enough to be working on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean. Shooting was completed several weeks ago, and I wanted to share a little bit of goss that I was privy to. As you may or may not be aware, some of 'Pirates' was filmed in Los Angeles, California. While we were there, Keira Knightley took half a day off to meet with Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy. Word going around the set was that she is being considered for a role in the upcoming Jurassic Park film, and that Spielberg just wanted to have a casual meeting with her first. Keira later confirmed that the meeting was indeed regarding JPIV, and she might play the granddaughter of the Richard Attenborough character. She said there was no actual agreement made, but Spielberg definitely has her under consideration. 05/01/2003 - JP4 plot I waited a bit with this news because it seemed a little bit to much of a rumour , but since a few big JP sites posted it... This is a possible plot for Jurassic Park 4 : "Now, I am not saying this is the actual films plot, but the idea is being tossed around. As things are going, somehow InGen's dinosaurs escape and get out into the outside world. A carcass is found on the beach and it is found that the carcass is carrying a deadly sickness know by InGen as DX. They soon find out that the sickness is transferable to human subjects and that it could be the same sickness that killed off the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm are approached by an unlikely person - Biosyn's Lewis Dodgson who is also concerned the sickness could wipe InGen's animals and a great number of people out and so a team is assembled and sent out to both Jurassic Park islands and the mainland to access the damage the sickness has caused and they are forced to kill the remaining dinosaurs which will end the Jurassic Park series." 2005 release? 12/19/2002 In the movie magazine 'Cinescape' Jurassic Park 4 is mentioned in the table of the 2005 releases! But the movie will have a tough competition with blockbusters like Indiana Jones 4 , Star Wars : Episode III and Aliens 5.It is also mentioned that Cameron Thor , Sam Neill & Jeff Goldblum are the unconfirmed cast. Golblum back in JP4? 11/16/2002 While talking about his new movie 'Igby goes down' , the reporter got some JP4 details.... Goldblum says that the script is very good (again) and we will possibly see the Rex returning as main dino. Also the Dilophosaurus and a new 'dino' , Mosasaurus are set to play a role in the 4th movie. Read the complete article here. JP4 less scientific? 11/12/2002 In an interview Horner said that he doesn't have much work on the 4th movie.He is busy with it now , but he won't have as much work like he did in the 3rd movie.He says that jp4 will be 'less scientific' and as example he gives the movie 'Dinosaur' were his worked stopped when the dinos talked. Feathered Raptors in JP4? 10/22/2002 In an American Show called : 'Dinosaur secrets revealed' Stan Winston hints at JP4. Jack Horner wanted Raptors completley covered in feathers in JP3 , and Winston replied that in JP4 'if it happens' he would like to do that. Read the complete article here. His contract stated if he's in the third one , he needs to be in the fourth one as well. Interviewer : So what do you think , are they moving ahead with JP4? AN : You know what? I really hope not.I found that to be.....a trying experience. Interviewer : Any particular reason? AN : Because its like the only part I've ever done that just had nothing for me to latch on character-wise.And it was kind of maddening. I have to say that Sam Neill got me trough it.He got me trough because he played ukelele and sit around in our trailers and strum Beach Boy songs.And if it wasn't for that , I would've gone out of my mind. talk about it in the forum 10/15/2002 CountingDown reports that in a Scottish magazine , film composer John Williams revealed that he has been asked to score JP4 by Steven Spielberg. JW : Well , I'm certainly busy as ever , which I enjoy. Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban is definately in my future.Star Wars episode 3 will follow that , which I'm very much looking foward to doing.It's like the completion of an epic journey. Then I'm coming back with Steven Spielberg for the fourth Indiana Jones , an exciting project that has attracted incredible interest.Steven has also expressed desire for me to score the next Jurassic Park film , which he is developing presently.Its a genre that I would just adore to revisit , so I'll do my best to be available for it. talk about it in the forum 06/12/2002 CHUD reveals that Steven Spielberg pretty much confirmed in an interview with Starlog that a Jurassic Park 4 is in the works. SS: You're talking to the guy who has got to decide , and at this point I've pretty much decided to do a JP4. Similar to the third one I will not direct it.I would hope that I could get Joe Johnston to direct this one too , but it's up to him. We actually have a wonderful story that I think is the best story since the first movie. In fact , I wish it were the third story instead of the fourth one.It came late , but it's actually the best idea I heard for a dinosaur movie since the Michael Crichton book. And I'm not going to tell you anything about it , my lips are sealed. 08/31/2001 From SCIFI.com , rumours of a Jurassic Park prequel have been floating around ever since the third one was announced it was going to be made. Well , Dans JP3 Page reports that a proposed fourth JP movie would be prequel to the 1993 original movie. Citing an anonymus ILM source , the site reported that director Steven Spielberg discussed the concept with ILM , Universal and writers before the release of Jurassic Park III. During the meeting , story ideas were supposedly tossed around , including placing the story on Isla Nublar and picking up the can that was lost in the 1st film. Another idea concerned the genetic problems the dinosaur creators were having before the JP1 events , featuring an adventure with new characters.
