The Jupitersciples are a Los Angeles area based hiphop group consisting of 3 wordsmiths (Cyclopean-Eye, Oddsequence, and BeSoul) and the sound provider, Brother Damyu. In 1999, they released a CD entitled "Snapped Faders and Blown Speaker Milkshakes" - a collection of written rhymes, freestyles, and turntable noise. Up till now the Jupitersciples have been rocking shows anywhere and everywhere. In December 2002, dropped their first single release on vinyl "CTO/Doom/Doom Remix." Another 12" single and an album are in the works...
The goal of the Jupitersciples is to present a message of spiritual righteousness and hope in a messed up world, through skilled lyricism over raw beats. "Jupiter" stands for the group's quest to separate themselves from that world, and "Sciples" (short for disciples) reflects the member's beliefs and defines their roles as orators of those beliefs. In spite of a music world overrun by materialistic and selfish motives, the Jupitersciples make music made for the purpose of cultivating the soul - of each group member, and of any open minded listener.
