Story:
A little while back I was approached by Duke White over at Hudson Productions about a movie collaboration he wanted to pursue. He wanted to get together a few amateur movie groups and have each one shoot a twenty minute short based around the idea of a person finding out that they only had 3 days left to live. Each short would begin with having a doctor tell the main character, which could be a male or female, young or old, that they were afflicted with some sort of disorder and would have only three days left to live, and the rest of the short would deal with the aftermath of this revelation.
Rather than take the typical route of having someone accomplish what they wanted, become reckless, etc., I thought up the idea that would become "The Surrogate".
A car accident claims the life of Jason Dexter, adored by his father, loved by his mother, and envied by his twin brother, Scott. As the family tries to cope with this tragedy, Mr. Dexter is approached by a doctor named Simone Powell. She is developing a procedure that can bring the dead back to life... the only catch is that it requires a family member to give up their life in the process, and there is only a window of three days to complete the procedure.
