The interior overhead and coach roof sides were surfaced with vinyl covered 1/8" plywood, and trimmed with oil finished red cedar. The hull sides below the coach roof were covered with marine grade carpeting, as was the cabin sole. The plywood was installed in panels, with a multi-purpose ("No More Nails") adhesive. All the trim was home made. The mermaids are a Thomas Gillmer trademark and are moulded into the hull. They were painted with "Testors" craft paints, the kind you used to use on your model ships and airplanes. Exterior brightwork is being sanded and finished with marine grade oil finish. NO MORE VARNISH! |
