There is a dangerous group of people living among us. They could be your friend, your neighbor, your coworker. Their philosophies represent real danger and threaten the very American way of life. I am not talking about potential terrorists � I am talking about pacifists. There is a growing peace movement, starting on campuses and among those on the extreme liberal left which dictates that their should be no U.S. retaliation for the act of war, carnage, destruction and murder that was perpetrated on our nation on Sept. 11, 2001. These groups of pacifists are a national threat. They would have us turn a blind eye to the events of 9/11. They have some strange rationale to back this up, saying things like �violence doesn�t stop violence.� Well, in fact it does, doesn�t it? I can�t help but notice that World War II ended some time ago, most notably after we wreaked major destruction on the aggressors. They say, �we can�t kill innocent people, it doesn�t make us any better than them.� Again I respond, yes, it does. Of course we would never target civilian areas deliberately, but let�s flash back to the Gulf War of 1991, where Saddam Hussein intentionally placed civilian camps in front of military installations. Our enemies, including the likes of the Taliban, are people that intentionally build missile factories next to schools and hospitals. They put their people in harms way for political reasons. They are the criminals here. If our military intervention happens to take the lives of civilians, that�s regrettable but it can�t stop our mission. Let us remember that our enemies have stated publicly that they make no distinction between American civilians or military, thus their attack on heavily populated civilian areas.

I have heard the pacifists say, �we can�t start a war over this.� First, we didn�t start anything, the War started on September 11 as a result of their attack. Secondly, if not to protect the lives of our citizens and those innocent people around the world, what else is there to start a war over? These ignorant people choose not to think about and understand our enemy. Our enemy is militant Islam � it�s a faction that has said its goal is to continue to kill the infidels until the entire world is the Muslim world. Radical Muslim extremists are found not just in Afghanistan, but all over the Middle East and Africa. This movement must be beaten into submission � diplomacy doesn�t not apply to these barbarians. It didn�t apply to Hitler, either, just ask Neville Chamberlain. As for Afghanistan, their ruling Taliban party is the most hideous, horrible regime of terror to inhabit the Earth today. Consider that under the Taliban, women are not counted as people. They are not allowed in public outside the company of a male relative, or they will be stoned to death in public. They are also not allowed to work. Now consider, since women can�t be doctors, and men can�t touch women to whom they are not married, how do women in Afghanistan get medical care? They don�t.
