| Raster images in Drawings | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Jim, How can I permanently attach an image to an ACAD 14 .dwg file? I've inserted,rotated, scaled, & clipped the image into my drawing and now need to save it to disk, for forwarding to another office. What path should be saved with the image to make it come up on the disk copy of the drawing? Thanx, in advance, for your prompt response to this problem. Gordon Smith |

| Gordon, Images are independent of the drawing in AutoCAD R14, A2K and A2Ki. I remember using pcxin and gifin with R12 and R13 and these commands kept the image whithin the drawing. With R14 and above, images are more like Xrefs. There is no real way to keep an image permanently attacthed a drawing if you move it from computer to computer without sending the image file along with it (unless of course you are on the same network and have a common drive that image is in). You need to send the image along with the drawing. I've found that putting the image in the same directory as the drawing file creates the least amount of confusion. Good Luck Jim |
