MORE ABOUT LISA
My name is Lisa Hochtritt and I'm a doctoral candidate in the Program in Art and Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York. I used to be a high school art teacher in Half Moon Bay, CA (near SF) and now I'm a student/artist living in New York City. I work at The Heritage School, a public high school in East Harlem, New York City and Parsons School of Art and Design.
I grew up in Wisconsin where it was a common practice to sit on cows.
A frequently asked question:  Why do some people call you June, when your real name is Lisa? I was a radio and club disc jockey during the New Wave Eighties. Some friends started calling me "June Cleavage" and the first name stuck.
I have a great family: my mom is a high school art teacher and an animal lover; my dad is a retired professor and a scout with the Canadian Football League; and my sister (Linda Lou von Hochtritt) is an artist who specializes in welded, sculptural furnishings and lives in Austin, TX.
