JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD was born on a lovely and lively Sunday afternoon in February. 1999. Although the show was running for four months under the name The Gospel Hour it was decided by Joe Macheyo and Theuns Fourie it was time for change, so the show was dubbed JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD
As with any good name, the name had to have the same vibe as what the DJ’s were creating. The name
JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD was selected because of the vibe it portrayed. Taken from a World Wide Message Tribe CD with the same name. The title tract from the second CD in the series summarized the vibe and joy created during an hour with Joe and TheunsJUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD
is about music. Inspiring Christian based songs, with strong lyrics and a message. The message that God is alive and well today and that Christian music is in no way boring.JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD
cover all the styles in popular Christian music today, music presented by the "Michael W Smith’s" of the world through to local efforts of a "Johan Serfontein" or a "MIC".JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD
sees the power of music in reaching people for Christ and love to make use of the opportunities presented by radio and music to go tell the good news about Christ.Trying to define the audience of such a diverse show as JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD is no easy task. In general the show targets lovers of music preformed by excellent musicians. Bringing to their audience the music but because music does not give life but can sooth the soul JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD tries to portray the fact that there is life in Christ. A LIFE only found when Christ start touching and changing our lives with His Holy Spirit.
The show gives listeners the opportunity to get to know the artists on a face to face basis also educating the listener about the music. Reflecting the artist’s heart desires when writing and performing a song. Joe and Theuns pride themselves in promoting local stuff especially artist who have not cracked it in the world of music as yet but who shows the potential to do just that in the near future.
Future plans with
JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD is the plans that GOD has with the show. This can actually mean anything because GOD is truly wonderful but it is hoped that some of God’s plans include prolonged airtime for the show on weekends. An increase in regular listeners to totals ranging around 30 000 by the end of 2001. Local concerts arranged by JUMPING IN THE HOUSE OF GOD and your favorite community radio station TEKS FM STEREO.
