Both the tribal and non tribal members of LGC are directly elected by the people of the districts. The main objectives of the creation of LGC is to develop this area as well as save the heritage and the minimize the sense of deprivation among the tribal peoples. Among 22 different department wheich were to transferred do far. the development programmes of different deputed departments are also supervised by the council. Development programmed taken by different governmwent department which are not transferred to this council are also coordinated by it.
