The Tackroom
Here's my showroom of hand-made tack. A lot of my models have real Julip saddles and bridles, but a while ago I enjoyed making them more realistic and varied tack too. I had a go at everything I could think of! You're on the saddles and bridles page, click below to visit the other pages.
Sets for western and side saddle riding, arab tack, polo and race tack, etc...

My second ever set of tack (right), this is a smart show set for Chance. She wears a pelham bridle with cheeks made from paperclip wire, with a nice wide noseband and double reins, just right for showing a heavy cob. Her saddle is straight cut and made in suede, just like a real show saddle.
Prince has a synthetic leather-look saddle made from fake leather, and his bridle and martingale are made of black ribbon to look like nylon webbing. He's got a special endurance bridle, with clips on the cheekpieces which allow the bit to be taken off, converting the bridle into a headcollar. The noseband has a controller feauture under the chin which tightens through a ring. All the buckles and rings, as well as the bit and stirrups, are made of paperclip wire.
Above and above left) An improvement on the earlier 'Orion' saddle, this is Chess's jumping saddle. Made in a really nice thin soft leather that takes shape very well, this saddle has a wire tree to give it a deep seat, rounded cantle and high pommel. It has knee blocks and pads, and the stirrup leathers cross under the seat, so the length can be adjusted by pulling the loose ends!
(Left) This is the same design as Chess's black saddle on the right, but in brown fake leather, with a different style of knee-pads. As with all my saddles, the stirrups are made from paperclips twisted into shape with pliers.
