I lived in Council Grove for 19 years of my life. My first job was at Rainbow World Daycare at the Morris County Hospital in Council Grove. I moved to Omaha, NE, in August of 2001. The first job I had in Omaha was at St. Paul Lutheran School. I helped with the pre-school kids at lunch time & fixed snacks after school for the kids that were in Rainbow Club (kids waiting after school for their parents to pick them up). I quit at St. Paul after working there about a month because I started working for OPS (Omaha Public Schools). I was a bus aide for OPS, which means I sat on the bus, made sure kids stayed in there seats & behaved themselves and that the driver took them home to the right places (home, babysitter's, ect.). In May of 2002, I moved in with a friend's family in Clay Center, KS, where I worked at Sonic Drive-In for about 2 months until I could find another job in Omaha. Well, I found one, so in August of 2002, I moved back to Omaha. Now I work at the AMC Theater by Oakview Mall. I am trained for concessions, usher and box office. It's not the greatest job in the world, but then again, what job is? I get to go to movies for free, so I guess that kind of makes up for anything I decide I don't like about the job. The only thing I don't like about living in Omaha is that most of my friends are back home in Kansas and I don't get to hang out with them as often as I'd like. I try to go to Kansas when I can afford it so I can hang out with them, but sometimes it's hard to find the time & money for a 4 hour drive. When I do get to go see my friends, we usually have a blast, no matter what we'e doing! :) |
