�It�s nothing, mum,� she said, smiling. Her mother smiled, taking the bowl into the dining room.
�Why didn�t Jessica say anything about Lila staying over?� her mother asked, sneaking back into the kitchen and causing Elizabeth to jump.
�Um, well, she knew Jess wouldn�t be home until dinner, so she told me, to tell you,� Elizabeth grabbed the cutlery and took it to the dining room, placing the knives and forks on the table. She quickly checked the clock; they�d be here soon.
�I�m just going to get changed!� Liz yelled out, running up the stairs.
Her mother walked into the dining room.
�Why do you need to change?� She called out, but didn�t receive an answer.
The kitchen door opened, revealing Ned Wakefield.
�Hey, honey,� he cooed, kissing her lightly on the lips. Alice pulled him in for a deeper kiss.
�Hey, you,� she whispered, smiling. Ned smiled back, placing his suitcase and tie on a chair by the counter.
�Is Steven home?� Ned asked, eyeing the five plates. Alice shook her head.
�No. Lila�s staying overnight, and joining us for dinner.� Ned nodded, proceeding to help his wife.

Jessica opened the front door.
�We�re home, Mum! When�s dinner?� She yelled out, motioning for Lila to come in.
�In 10!� Jessica grabbed Lila�s arm, pulling her up the stairs and into her room.
�Are you sure you want to do this, Li?� Jessica asked her friend, worried. Lila nodded.
�If we�re telling everybody, your parents are a good place to start,� Lila answered, checking her reflection in the mirror. Jessica passed her a brush.
�Why not your parents?� Lila brushed her hair out, smiling at her reflection.
�They�re not home. They�re in London on a business trip.�
The door to the bathroom opened and Elizabeth walked out.
�You came,� she whispered with delight. Lila nodded, smiling. She walked towards Elizabeth, pulling her into her arms.
�I�m ready to tell the world, sugar,� Lila whispered into Liz�s ear before drawing her into a long, succulent kiss.
Jessica tried not to stare, especially when Liz moaned and pushed herself closer to Lila. But she couldn�t.
Her twin sister and her best friend were going at it! Who would have guessed?
Jessica turned to the mirror, her smile fading. Why couldn�t she have something like that?
Of course, Todd had told her he loved her, but did he really? Or was he just using her until the next best thing showed up?
�Dinner�s ready!�
Jessica sighed. She saw Lila and Liz break apart, exchanging nervous grins. The three of them headed downstairs to dinner.

�That was delicious, Mrs Wakefield! How�d you make it?� Lila figured some sucking up wouldn�t go down too badly. Alice smiled.
�Actually, Elizabeth made it. You should thank her for making a good meal,� she replied, clearing away the plates. Lila looked at Liz, smiling a secret thank you. Liz smiled back, her foot creeping up Lila�s leg.
Lila tried to stifle a groan when Liz�s foot pushed against her underwear, but it was difficult. She saw Jessica grab a napkin, trying to hide her laughter.
�And here we go, dessert!� Alice placed a beautiful apple pie on the table, accompanied with vanilla custard.
�Mmmm, my fave meal,� Liz licked her lips, staring directly at Lila.
Lila blushed. God, wasn�t it obvious?
�So, girls, what�s new?� All 3 of them began coughing in earnest. Jessica quickly caught eyes with her sister. She saw Liz nod slowly.
�Oh shoot, look at the time. I need to study,� Jessica said in response, making her exit
�That was�unusual,� Alice replied.
�Mum, dad, I have something to tell you,� Liz answered quickly. She took a deep breath, quickly glancing at Lila.
�I�broke up with Todd some time ago. It�s�not entirely�.he didn�t dump me..well, he did, but it was because��
Lila quickly reached out and grabbed Liz�s hands, trying to calm her. Liz smiled in relief.
�What is it, Liz?� Her mother asked anxiously.
�Todd and I broke up because I didn�t love him anymore. I loved�love somebody else. I�this is going to be difficult�I�m in love with a girl.�
The silence that followed was stifling. Liz refused to look up. �I�m in love with the most beautiful girl in the world. She treats me like no one else as, and she loves me.�
�I do, I love you so much, sugar,� Lila whispered. Liz smiled, finally looking up.
Her parents stared back at her, shock in their eyes. Liz took a deep breath, closing her eyes briefly. She faced her mother.
�Mama, I�m gay. I�m a lesbian. I�m in love with Lila.�
�Are you sure?� her mother asked in disbelief.
�It started out as a thing, but�I love your daughter so much, Mrs Wakefield,� Lila butted in. Alice stared at Lila.
�Lila? You and Liz? This is all a bit too much. I�I don�t know what to say.� Alice faced her husband. �Ned?�
Ned stared at his daughter briefly, before leaving the room. Liz sniffled, holding back a tear. Lila smiled softly.
�Why are you telling us??� Alice asked softly.
�We�ve been lying to each other and to everyone for awhile now. It�s time we came out and told people. Liz wanted you to know, and I supported her in that decision.�
�Um, I�m just going to clean up,� Alice muttered, leaving the room with a glass in her hand.
Lila stood up, walking over to Liz and holding her close.
�You did it, sugar. You told them. Don�t cry. They�ll come around and see to reason soon enough,� Lila tried to soothe her girlfriend. Liz wiped the tears away.
�Come on, angel, let�s go to bed,� she whispered, standing up. Together, they quietly made their way to Liz�s bedroom.

Jessica picked up the phone, dialing Todd�s number.
�Hello?�
�Hi, Todd,� she whispered.
�Hey, baby,� he whispered back into the phone. Jessica lay back on the bed, happy to be talking to Todd. �How are you feeling now?�
�So much better,� she whispered. �I want you so bad,� she moaned quietly.
�Hmmmm�I know. I want to nibble on you for a little while,� he whispered, causing Jessica to shiver slightly.
�Jess, what do you say tomorrow, we sneak into an empty room? Because I can�t wait too long without you!�
�I�ll be there. I want you too,� Jessica whispered back.
