�Hey, are you alright?� he asked, stroking her slowly. She shook her head, before looking around. They were in the bathroom! Why!
With a groan, Jessica remembered throwing up. She began crying.
�I�m sorry, Todd.� He held her tightly.
�Come on, let�s get you cleaned up and go to the doctor, alright? I don�t want anything to be wrong with you!� Jessica nodded, and let Todd pick her up. She was feeling better, except for the foul taste in her mouth.
As Todd handed her clothes to her, Jessica remembered how nauseous she�d been lately. Something was wrong. Something was really wrong. But what?

Elizabeth rolled over in bed. She�d gone to sleep early, unable to think about Lila having fun at the party.
But her dreams betrayed her.
Elizabeth remembered the wild, exotic dreams she�d had. In one of them, they fucked each other on the stage in front of everyone.
Elizabeth began massaging her clitoris, imagining Lila was there. She was coming to the realisation that she didn�t care. She didn�t care if everyone knew. She wanted everyone to know she was in love with the beautiful Lila Fowler.
But she understood Lila�s point of view. They both had respected reputations in the school. How would it affect them?
Gently, Liz slipped a finger inside herself, moaning loudly in ecstasy. She began pushing hard, trying to get a rise out of herself.
After several minutes, she collapsed back on the bed, in tears.
�It�s no use!� she cried in despair. Only Lila did it to her.
�Lila,� Liz cried out. �I need you, baby. I love you��

Lila dangled her legs in the pool. She didn�t care anymore. She just didn�t care. Cara and Amy had been forced to take over hosting the party and getting everyone home safely. Lila had crept away into the woods in tears.
�How could I do that?� She whispered angrily. Amy did something to her. Amy turned her on. There was a primal urge inside of her, telling her to have Amy while she could.
But her heart was screaming. Her heart was telling it was false, her head was trying to trick her.
�I love Elizabeth so much,� she whispered, shivering at the cold water.
And her head was telling her to forget both of them, and find a rich guy to start dating, and salvage her reputation.
�Damn you! Damn all of you!� She yelled out in anger. Why couldn�t any parts of her agree?
Lila quietened down. She closed her eyes.
�What do I care about most in my life?� she whispered. The answer came to her instantly.
�Elizabeth,� She shuddered. �Then that�s it. If I love Liz, if I want to be with her, then I have to throw myself into the deep end.�
Lila began to cry.

Jessica sat at the doctor�s office, impatiently waiting with Todd. He calmly stroked her arm, trying to calm her.
It wasn�t working.
Jessica was biting her nails, waiting for the doctor to come back into the room. She stared into Todd�s eyes, worry all over her face.
�Jess, don�t worry, it�s probably just a bug or something,� he told her, placing a kiss on her forehead. Jessica nodded, leaning into him. She still couldn�t believe he loved her. Todd Wilkins loved her!
She shoved thoughts from the previous night out of her mind. She was spinning out of control fast. Sleeping around with other guys�the constant sex with Todd.
Her stomach dropped. What was wrong with her? It�s like she couldn�t get enough of it all of a sudden! Jessica groaned as the doctor came back into the room.
�Ms Wakefield?� He asked, smiling. Jessica waited.
�Well, there�s definitely something wrong. Unfortunately, our machines just went kaput. Damn medical systems!� He continued, muttering. Jessica and Todd exchanged looks. �We�ll take blood and urine samples and send them over to the closest working lab, which is in�Cold Springs. We should have the results in 2 days.�
�2 days?� Jessica shrieked. �2 days? I�m throwing up left and right here, feeling sick all the time and I have tow ait another 2 days for the results!� The doctor frowned.
�Now, Jessica, it�s not our fault. The system crashed and we can�t do anything. However, I will prescribe something to settle your stomach for now,� he continued, scribbling on a prescription pad, �and I�ll give you a call in 2 days with the news. And don�t worry, there�s no need to miss school tomorrow!� He finished with a grin. Jessica groaned in disbelief.

As the dark sky descended on Sweet Valley, Elizabeth reached the beach. She saw the last remnants of the sun disappear in the dark waters.
Liz sank in the sand, burying her head in her hands. She didn�t know what to do. People didn�t talk to her anymore, wary of the rumours. Granted, everyone believed they were just rumours, but some people weren�t so sure.
Elizabeth knew. She knew they were discussing her previous relationships. The fact that Todd broke up with her because she wouldn�t sleep with him. The fact that he now had a new girlfriend, and they were at it like rabbits.
�When did life get so confusing?� She asked the waves. A lone seagull screamed in the air, flying to the sand, and digging its beak into the ground, searching for something.
�Life was never this difficult before,� she whispered, playing with the sand in her hands. �But then again, I�ve never really been in love before.�
Elizabeth thought about Lila and the time they�d spent together. It had been sexual up to a point. But somewhere amongst the lust and the sex, she�d fallen in love with the rich heiress. There was something about her that Lila never showed anybody.
�And she shared that person with me,� Liz said, hugging her knees. �She shared her body and her soul with me. That ahs to mean something.�
A breeze swept past, chilling Liz to the bone. She hastily got up.
�She shared herself with me. And I�m not going to let her stop. Others fight for religion or for self-righteousness. I�m going to fight for my love.� She chanted to herself, as she made her way back home.

For the first time in 2 weeks, Jessica didn�t feel sick in the morning. She smiled and got out of bed.
She met Liz on the way downstairs.
�Hey,� she uttered softly, expecting a crushed and desperate Liz to stare back at her. But Elizabeth was vibrant and determined.
�It�s a beautiful day, isn�t it, Jess?� She smiled back, making her way into the kitchen and getting Cornflakes.
�Um yeah.� Jessica followed her. �Are you alright?�
�I�m great. It�s a new day, Jessica. A day to go out there and seize what I want. Carpe Diem!� Jessica giggled softly.
�Ok then.�

It was quiet in the hallways of Sweet Valley High as Enid made her way to class. A hand fell softly on her shoulder, causing Enid to turn in surprise.
�Oh Winston!� She shrieked, jumping into his arms.
�Hey baby,� he said back, softly kissing her before dropping her onto the floor. Giggling, she got up, and they continued to class.
�Morning, Enid, Winston,� MS Dalton nervously uttered, standing at the door. They walked in, a bit shocked.
Enid saw most of the class inside. Elizabeth was watching the door carefully, anxiously. Amy was hiding behind a book. Enid snickered. She didn�t know Amy could read.
Lila breezed into the classroom, smiling tentatively at Liz, who smiled back. Ms Dalton followed them inside.
�Guys, we�re not discussing French today,� she told them in a quiet voice. The class immediately burst into murmurs.
�There�s an issue that needs to be discussed in this classroom.� Ms Dalton took a deep breath.
�How many people here know someone who�s homosexual?� Silence followed this statement. After awhile, a hand rose in the back. Enid turned around. She didn�t recognise who it was.
Ms Dalton nodded. �Anyone else?� With an uncertain look,. Enid raised her hand, as did Winston, Liz and Lila. Ms Dalton broke into a smile.
�You�re wrong, you know. You all know someone who�s gay.� They stared back at her, uncertain.
�Me.�

Liz looked at Ms Dalton, not comprehending that singular word.
�What? You�re gay?� A voice yelled out. Ms Dalton nodded.
�Now, does that make me different? IS my teaching different? Have I ever implied that I was?� Silence followed, as some people shook their heads.
�That�s because I�m still the same person. Just because I like girls doesn�t make me any less of a human being.�
Ms Dalton looked carefully at Lila and Liz before continuing.
�I never intended to come out like that, but vicious acts have been happening lately. On students! Somebody needs to start changing this school and changing it for good.� She leaned forward in earnest. �You need to encourage people to be themselves! Just because someone is different, doesn�t make them worse. You all accepted Andy. What makes gay people any different?� People started looking down in disgust with themselves. Ms Dalton saw Lila trying to hold back tears.
�What this school needs is someone to stand forth and change the way students think. I didn�t intend on being that person. I don�t. But I�m willing to hold to my position, until someone takes over.
It�s a lot to take in. Class is dismissed for today.�
They filed out of the room, as everyone stared at Ms Dalton before hurrying out. Liz remained, head in hands. Enid waited with her.
Only Enid, Liz and Lila remained in the classroom.
�Liz?� Lila whispered. Enid took it as her sign to leave. Squeezing Liz�s hand, she walked out, praying something good was about to happen.
