Happy Birthday Mommy

Today is my Mommy's birthday and I gave her balloons
I tied notes to them and let them go into the sky
You see my Mommy is in Heaven, beyond the stars and the moon
She had to leave me and I don't understand why
She didn't want to, but it's what she had to do
My Mommy loves me very much
And though she's not here, she watches over me
I miss her hugs and kisses, her voice and her touch
I know I have others who love me, but a little boy needs his Mommy
There are special things that only a Mommy can do
She can kiss the hurts and make them go away
She can make you laugh when you don't want to
She adds her special touch to every day
Her smile can reach right into your heart
She makes you feel safe by holding your hand
She loves you unconditionally right from the start
Why my Mommy went away is something I don't understand
Jesus you have my Mommy with you
Please tell her that I love her and I miss her
And please tell her that I am trying to be brave too
Tell her that I will never forget her, not ever
I love you Mommy and I know you love me
And there's one more thing I'd like to say
Happy Birthday Mommy!
I hope you got the balloons I sent you today.
