| Do not stand on my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle Autum's rain. I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand on my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. Author Unknown |
| ~ My Thoughts of My Grandmother ~ Our Grandmother might be gone from our lives in body, but she is not really gone from us at all. She is here among us. She is a part of each one of us inside our heart. We as a family were so fortunate to be able to grow up in a home that always had the doors open. A house that was made of love for each other and no matter where you were within it, it was home. When we were growing up, coming home from school and walking through my Grandmother's door to her house was so natural for us. Our Grandmother was a part of our growing up every single day of our lives. We were blessed with that. We learned from her, gengtleness, faith, forgiveness, love and strength. We watched our Grandmother nurture everything she touched, so that it would grow into something so beautiful. Look at all of us here, how beautiful we all are. Now I have memories...I remember our Grandmother's Gardens, how lovely they were and how they grew! She loved her hands in the dirt and she loved to watch things grow. She would hold up to us tomatoes or beans and say in her Italian accent, "Look! Look! How nice!" We didn't just see those tomatoes and beans though, we saw her, her touch and her love that made everything grow. We will forever remember our Grandmother's Hands, her gentle loving hands. It was through them that everything within her heart flowed. Everything that she was made of came out of those hands and her touch went right to our hearts, where she will forever remain. She loved everything and everyone, and we all loved her back. And now, we say "God be with you Grandma". You will remain in our hearts as we continue to grow. We will pass along what you gave to us to all those who come into our lives. We love you Grandma. We love you, and will one day be with you again. ~ |
