I am now a very complex person, but I have a fairly simple past. I was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, and grew up in Forest Hills, Queens. Right in the middle of my perfect childhood, a sudden and heartbreaking thing happened: I moved from New York City to Long Island. A major culture shock, I was overwhelmed by the incredibly small town I was to live in, the clean air and most of all the abundance of grass. From the age of nine and on I was in a new world and I learned to love it. My particularly nuclear family loved it even more. My extremely amiable mother is a writer, my father is a lawyer and my brother is adorable. These people are my link to the world, without them I would be nothing. Formally plagued with an excessive case of shyness, my family has helped me grow from an awfully timid little girl to an extremely capable and confident person.
I am much more outgoing and sociable today than I ever was. I went through a transitory time in my life and came out of it knowing exactly who I am and I am now the kind of person I have always wanted to be. At the moment I am entirely into movies and fashion. Like any other teenager I watch a lot of TV; my favorite shows are ER, Ally McBeal, Real World and Survivor. As of right now my favorite singer is Pink because of her originality and new style of music, but my all-time favorite singer is Joni Mitchell and my favorite band is Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I am very anti-smoking; it is one of many things that I feel strongly about. My friends are my extended family and though recently there has been a little bit of trouble between us, I am positive everything is going to turn out okay in the long run. The only sport I participate in is horseback riding, which I havent been able to do lately because I dont have enough free time or money.
People laugh at me when I tell them that I know what I want to do when I get older. I guess these people dont know what it feels like to have aspirations. I want to be in the film business, either in production or working at a studio. I dont know how or why I figured this out, I guess the business just fascinates me. I might move to California, though I really wouldnt like to leave New York, a city I grew up in and love so much. In respect to having a family, I know I want to have kids because I love children, but I want to be financially stable at that time. I want to have a life, but I know my job will take up a lot of time and I am prepared for that. I know that I will keep and make lasting friendships because friends are such an important part of my life.
