Julie (Braun) Cook was born & raised in Spring Lake,
Michigan, where she attended Spring Lake High School.
She attended Northern Michigan University 2002-2006,
graduating with a BFA in Illustration.
She has illustrated a book of poetry written by Gary Gill, "The Orange Horse and Other Poems,"
published by Avery Color Studios of Gwinn, Michigan.
She completed her Senior Art Exhibition (November-December 2005),
the final component in NMU's BFA program.
In July 2006, she married Dave Cook, another Spring Lake native who attended Grand Haven High School.
In August, they moved to Laramie, Wyoming, where Dave will begin
graduate studies at the University of Wyoming.
Regardless of her locale, Julie plans to pursue a career in children's book illustration.
