As many of you know that made it to the previous event we had a really great time meeting up with people, great food, excellent deserts and quite a variety of the scopes list. Thanks again for making it a success.
May 11th:
At dusk we will begin setting up at Southlake Towncenter open field area by the fountain for our first public sidewalk astronomy night. There will be enough of a moon to get some lunar viewing in. Also the last time I was out there with my scope I got Jupiter, Saturn and Mars with enough oohs and aahs to get more people to attend our regularly hosted quarterly event. As many of you have seen already, the weather has been pretty chancey lately for spring. But we are going to give it our shot. I will need all of the scopes that I can get for that night, so if yah gottem bringem! Also you will want to bring you filters as well. Not to mention a little bit of spending money because they have one of the best ice cream shops in town not to mention the best chinese food as well.
June 8th TCSP at Harmony park:
Per request, I have decided to make the next event on a saturday with a crecent moon and also a little sooner then I expected. With my new daughter being born in July mid month, my hands are going to be pretty busy after that. I wanted to make the summer quarter and do the fall event a little bit later on around Sept. We are going to shoot for June 8th at Harmony park and use the tennis courts again. I think that really worked out for all of us. I noticed on my private viewing that it really cut back on the wind vibration factor.
