JULIAN DANIEL
TALKS in SCHOOLS
Julian delivers talks about writing in schools and colleges talking about his route into comedy, starting with his own schooling, his time at university, his sporting past, his previous jobs and how he began writing and performing.

Julian uses visual aids, Q&As, reads his funny poems and
extracts from his book 'How To Dump Your Girlfriend' (where appropriate).
Suitable for Years 5&6 upwards
Me with authors
Terry Christian and
Zahid Hussain
Because Julian is a regular on the 'performing circuit' he is able to bring alive the life of a writer, and as he's from a comedy background the sessions are fairly light hearted.

As part of
World Book Day, Julian went into a college in Rochdale with fellow authors, Terry Christian and Zahid Hussain. (see pic on the left and click to read article)
Background Info. Julian has been going into schools talking about his experiences since 1997. Starting with his work with STEP (Strategies to Elevate People). He was then employed by City College Manchester to go into several schools as a Mentor. In addition to these talks he also does poetry workshops in schools. ADVANCED TALKS
Julian also does advanced talks for those new to writing or for people considering starting. He looks at matters such as the  writing process,
i.e.
where his ideas come from, re-writing and editing.

In addition to this Julian considers the more
practical side of the 'industry' including his experiences of bringing out a book, money matters and networking. There's also opportunities for questions from the floor.

Julian recently did such a talk with Mike Garry, for the
Chorlton Arts Festival
