Your Instructor:
Julia Kipshidze - Master Dancer and Ballet Instructor

Julia has over 15 years of experience working with dancers, having studied/worked in Russia, Prague, and Toronto.

She graduated from the Ballet Academy in Tbilisi, Georgia, Russia, in 1988, whereupon she then both performed and gave ballet lessons. In 1993, she received her Sport Academy Diploma as a Coach and Teacher of Physical Culture. She was invited to work with the National Team of Rhythmic Gymnastics and helped train and prepare students in rhythmic gymnastics for the Olympics.

Because of her successes, she received many invitations and accepted, in 1999, and offer to go to Cyprus to teach Ballet and do choreography, in 2000 she went to Prague, Czech Republic, as a Coach and Ballet Consultant, and in 2001 to Toronto, Canada, as Ballet Master and Choreographer.

Her unique style and focus of ballet is pure Russian style of Vaganova ballet which is very popular and prepares students to be the best in the industry. She specializes in dance techniques, pirouettes, rhythmic ballet and, especially, pointe work.

Julia has also worked with many athletes in Rhythmic Gymnastic clubs in Toronto and area, Artistic Gymnastics in Burlington and at Mariposa International figure skating school in Barrie. Athletes in many fields develop further in their sport through such cross-training. One example is her student Rosanna Tso of Burlington, Ont. (pictures below). After two years of private classes with Julia, she is now a national level gymnast.

Julia enjoys sharing her experience and knowledge with students who want to excel in the art of ballet, or work with her to improve their performance in their chosen sport. She is looking forward to introducing students at all levels tof Vaganova Ballet!
