Day two was a visit to the north of Wales. Spectacular scenery, towns and the initiative of the Welsh people in their beautification program... turning slag heaps from the mines into beautiful rejuvenation areas.
The outskirts of a typical Welsh village. Such neat and tidy houses, these have only been built in the last 5 years or so but are kept to the style of the old homes.
The countryside is breathtaking. The hills in the distance are rejuvenated slag heaps. Full marks to the Welsh for their initiative.
Quite an amazing site... another castle just visible above the trees as our coach sped past. It was the smallest castle we came across.
The spectacular Dee Valley near Llangollen (pronounced Klangollen - in Welsh Ll is pronounced Kl). Llangollen is a lovely town which gave us the opportunity for more shopping and walking. We visited where the famous Eisteddfod Music Festival is held and then it was time to bid farewell to Wales as we climbed the Horseshoe Pass and back into England.

I took this photo from inside our coach. The street was just wide enough for the coach do go down and so steep. I wouldn't want to be a car coming the other way. This was in Merthyr Tydfil if my memory serves.
