Only two days to visit and so much to see... It was a shame that the camera decided to play up so we lost a couple of rolls of film. Oh well, gives me another excuse to go back... not that I need one. Wales is such a beautiful country.

Our first stop was Tintern Abbey and I am so impressed with the Welsh people bringing back to the fore their native language. All their signs are in both Welsh and English... even the street signs.
On to Caerphilly to view it's castle.
A spectacular ruin, the castle was a fortress built in the middle of a lake. Amazing how it was built and the workmanship and design that went into it. It was joined to the land by a bridge complete with fortress to ward off the intruders. A remarkable feat of engineering.
Cardiff was our next stop and what a modern city it is. Virtually in the shadows of it's imposing castle are shopping malls, arcades and coffee shops where one can sit and sip and soak up this amazing city.
Spectacular banners draping the castle walls, welcoming the world to Cardiff. The Welsh people are so proud of their city and what it has to offer. It is an amazing mix of ancient and modern and the friendliness of the people is wonderful.
The clock tower - a truly amazing piece of art.
