Memories - Chapter 15
Hello? Joey said, answering the phone.

Hey man, Josh replied.

Hey.  How did it go? Joey asked, I assume you went to the cemetery already.

Yeah.  And it went ok.  Im going to move on today.  It feels really good, Josh told his best friend.

Yeah, I bet it does.  Now you can get freaky with Lance, Joey teased, laughing a little at his comment.

Joey! Josh exclaimed.

What?  Thats what youre going to do, right? Joey said, continuing his teasing.

That is none of your business Joey, Josh replied.

Sure it is.  I know youll want to tell someone once you guys do do something, and it will either be Leah or me.  Im guessing youll come to me.  Leah would be just a little freaked out by the details.  Or at least I hope she would, Joey told his friend with a smile.

Yeah, yeah, yeah Josh said.

Im right arent I? Joey pressed, laughing at his friend.

Ok, Joe.  I give up, Josh told him, you win.  Id probably go to you.

Now that wasnt so hard to admit, was it? Joey asked.

Nope, now can we change the subject? Josh asked impatiently.

Sure.  What do you want to talk about? Joey questioned.

Well, how was your date with Kelly this morning? Josh asked.

It was great, I really like her Josh.  I realize that I just met her a little while ago, but I think she could be the one, Joey told his best friend.

Really? Josh exclaimed, surprised.

Yeah, Joey replied dreamily.

Wow.  So are you done with your player ways? Josh joked.

Oh, very funny.  But I really think I am.  Shes a really nice girl.  Im seeing her again tonight, Joey explained with a smile on his face.

Thats great.  Maybe you, Kelly, Lance, and I could go on a double date sort of thing.  But thats only if she doesnt hate homosexuals, Josh suggested.

I havent asked her about that, but Im sure she would be fine with a double date Josh.  There are a lot more people who are ok with homosexuals than you think, Joey told him.

Yeah, ok, Josh replied with a smile.  Well, I need to go so I can call Lance.

Ok, you two love birds have a nice afternoon, Joey teased.

We will, thank you very much! Josh exclaimed, though Joey knew he was joking.  See ya.

Bye, Joey said before hanging up the phone.

Lance had been sitting by the phone since hed woken up and hour ago.  He kept telling it to ring, but it wasnt working.  It was only eleven thirty, but he was worried that Josh had found something better to do than spend time with him.  He really hoped he was just making that up.

He practically jumped out of his skin when the phone actually did ring.  His heart started beating faster immediately.  Dont be an idiot, it might not be him, he thought to himself, hoping that again, he was wrong.

Hello? he said, finally answering the phone on the fourth ring.

Hey Lance, Josh greeted Lance.

Hey Josh, Lance replied, unable to stop the huge smile that was forming on his face.

I thought you werent home because the answering machine almost picked up.  Did I interrupt something important? Josh asked curiously.

Nah, I was just watching some TV, Lance answered, turning on the TV so he wasnt actually lying to Josh.

Ahhh, let me guess soap operas? Josh questioned.

Yeah, Lance replied.

Quality TV, Josh commented with a little laugh.

Yeah, Lance said, loving the sound of Joshs laughter.

So anyway, you want to go out to lunch? Josh asked, wondering where hed take Lance.

Sure, Lance replied, excited that Josh did want to spend time with him.

Ok, where would you like to go? Josh questioned, still trying to think of somewhere.

Where ever you want, Josh, Lance answered, knowing that he would like any place that Josh brought him to.

All right, Ill pick you up in half an hour, ok? Josh said.

Sure, see you then, Lance replied.

Bye! Josh responded before hanging up the phone with a sigh.  He couldnt wait to see Lance.

****

Leah smiled from her seat on the couch as she heard her father talking to Lance.  She really hoped that the relationship would work out for him.  He needed someone besides her and Joey.

Justin noticed Leahs happy smile and spoke up.  Whatre you so happy about?

Dad and Lance.  Theyre really good for each other I think.  And Lance is really cool, Leah told him, the smile still on her face.

Yeah, they are, Justin agreed.

Werent you going to call your mom? Leah asked, suddenly remembering what Josh had told them.

Oh yeah, shes probably wondering why Im sleeping so late, Justin replied, standing up and heading to the kitchen to call his mom.  Ill be right back.

Ok, Leah agreed, sighing as Justin left the room.  Hes so cute, she thought to herself.  She really liked Justin a lot.  Its so cute that hes self-conscious about being inexperienced, she thought, grinning.  She found it wonderful that she would be the teacher in this relationship.  In all her previous relationships, the guys had been more experienced then her, so this was something new.

Ok, Im back, Justin said, coming into the room a few minutes later.

Cool.  She wasnt mad was she? Leah asked.

Nah, just worried.  She said she figured that I just spent the night, but she was worried, Justin explained.

Thats a parent for ya, Leah replied, smiling up at Justin.

So, what do you wanna do today? Justin asked.  Unless youre busy or something

Yeah, Im busy spending my day doing something with you.  And I dont know what we should do.  Any ideas? Leah questioned, pulling Justin down to sit on the couch beside her.

Uhh, not really, Justin said, trying to think of something fun that they could do.

Well, maybe we could go to lunch and then figure out what to do once were there, Leah suggested, not able to think of any better ideas.

Ok, that sounds good.  We need to go to my house first so I can change my clothes.  And theres only one problem.  I dont really have any money, Im kinda poor, Justin said.

Thats ok, Im paying, Leah told him with a smile.

Are you sure? he questioned, feeling bad that he was making Leah pay for their lunches.

Of course, Justin, Leah responded, smiling.  Now I just need to take a quick shower.  You can do whatever you want, I guess.  And dont get too bored without me, kay?

All right, I think I can manage that.  Take as much time as you need, Justin replied, grabbing the TV remote and clicking the TV on.

He smiled to himself as he heard Leah climbing the stairs.  He really liked her and hoped that they relationship would last.
