| Chapter 1 |
| Justin woke up early the next morning, his excitement over Lance finding out how he felt keeping him from getting much sleep. He started a pot of coffee and pulled a box of Lucky Charms from the cupboard on the bus. He screamed when he heard a snap in the cupboard, and pulled his hand back in shock. He peered inside and pulled out the fake mouse trap. 'Goddamn JC,' he thought to himself as he set the toy Chris had gotten JC for April Fool's Day on the counter. 'What I wouldn't give to get him back...' Justin grinned to himself and slipped the mouse trap into JC's duffel bag, zipping it up with a devious chuckle. He sat down at the kitchen booth and shoved a mouth full of cereal into his mouth. He grabbed the magazine sitting next to him, rolling his eyes at the cover. 'TEENBEAT EXCLUSIVE: Justin And Britney Getting Married? Details Inside!' He skimmed the article and laughed slightly. Him and Britney? Yeah right. He sighed and stared dreamily at the back of the bus, thinking of his green eyed, soon-to-be-lover. 'If the teenies only knew,' he grinned. As he finished his breakfast, he heard voices from the back of the bus. He got up and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, leaving his dirty dishes on the table. He opened the door to the back room and walked in. All the guys were up, though JC looked like he was really close to dozing off again. Chris and Joey were sitting on the floor, playing Chris's new Playstation racing game. They both leaned far right and far left, according to which way their cars went on the screen. Justin sat on the couch by Lance, who was half-reading and half-watching Chris and Joey. "Hey Lansten," he said cheerily. "Whatcha reading?" He laid his head on Lance's shoulder and faked a yawn. Lance smiled down at him before returning back to his book. "I'm reading Demain," he said. "It's a really weird book, but kinda good." Justin nodded, remembering the book. "Yeah, I had to read it in high school." He looked over at JC and laughed. "Jace, man, why don't you go get something to eat from the kitchen? I made some coffee. That might wake you up." JC nodded and stood up, stopping to yawn and stretch his long body. "Oh, and Jace?" said Justin. "I left something special in your duffel bag for ya." He winked and suppressed a chuckle, thinking of the mouse trap. JC nodded, only half paying attention as he headed to the front of the bus. He poured himself a steaming cup of coffee, added two sugars and two creams, and stirred it up. He licked the spoon when he was done and took a sip of the hot liquid. It burned his tongue slightly, but it woke him up some so he didn't complain. He sat down at the table and sighed at Justin's dishes. 'Damn Justin,' he thought grumpily. 'Can't he ever pick up after himself?' As he dumped the bowl and spoon into the sink, his eyes landed on his duffel bag, remembering what Justin had said. 'I left something special in your duffel bag for ya.' He rolled his eyes and opened his bag. It was probably a rubber snake or another of Chris's prank gifts he had given them all last year for April Fools' Day. His hand grazed the mouse trap slightly, but instead grabbed a piece of folded computer paper. JC didn't remember that being there before, so he assumed it was what Justin had been referring to. He sat down at the booth again, unfolding the letter and taking a sip of his coffee, which he promptly spit back out after reading the few lines typed on the page. 'Holy shit,' he thought, his eyes widening to comical proportions. 'Justin's in love with me?' |
