Learning to Juggle 3 Balls
This page will teach you the basics of juggling to learn how to juggle three balls, beanbags, or any other small objects. I reccomend you start with beanbags, but if they are not available, use regular balls. Follow these instructions step by step and be sure not to skip anything, and you will be juggling in no time...
Step 1
Take one ball and place it in the hand that you write with. Throw the ball up to about eye height, and then catch it again with the same hand. Repeat this throwing straight up and catching for a while (at least 20 repititions without dropping), and then switch to the other hand and do the same thing. This step sounds really simple, but don't skip it. You would be suprised how often you drop the ball. Once you feel like you have mastered this step, or are about to give up juggling due to boredom, move on to step 2.
Step 2
Step two involves slightly more skill than step one, but I think the average (or below average) person could figure this one out too. Start by taking one ball and holding it in your hand. Throw that ball to about eye height, and catch it in your opposite hand. Then throw it back. After that repeat step 2 a few times until you feel you are good enough to move on to step 3...
Step 3
The next steps involves adding a second ball. Put one ball in each hand, take a deep breath, and throw one of the balls in an arc to the other hand. Right before catching the first ball that you threw, throw the second ball up to the other hand under the first ball, and then catch it. Repeat the process for a while, and move on to step 4...
Step 4
Add a third ball. Start with one ball in one hand and two in the other. Throw a ball from the hand with 2 balls, and before you catch it in your other hand, throw that ball up on the inside of the falling balls arc. Catch the falling ball, and before the ball that is in the air is caught, throw up the ball that is in that hand on the inside of the arc as well. Keep on doing that, and you are juggling!
To see a video, please download it here. Clicking on the link will open it in a new window. Right clicking it and downloading it to your hard drive will save it to your computer. It's the third version of the video, and it is much better than the first and second, and is as good as it will be getting. Let me know if you have any problems viewing it.
