Potpourri Sachets

~Creating No-Sew Scented Sachets~

Tuck a personal sachet into a drawer, closet or a suitcase to evoke the fresh scent of a pine forest or the sweetness of a rose garden. These simple no-sew sachets can be created in minutes using fusible web and a glue gun. Select fabrics and potpourri scents that enhance one another and complement your decor. For instance, a woodsy plaid is ideal for a pine scented sachet, while an elegant embroidered fabric is perfect for a feminine floral sachet. Just be sure the weave is loose enough to fringe.
Pick decorations, such as pinecones and flowers that reflect the bouquet of the potpourri. Ribbons, charms and shells can lend additional finishing touches.

~Lace-Dying Technique~

The Battenberg doilies used for the pictured sachet were tea-dyed for an antique look.

  • simply soak doily in a cup of strong tea until the desired depth of color is achieved.
  • rinse in clear, cold water. Dry, then press doily before making sachet.
