In Oct 1847, he enlisted in the 2nd Regiment, U.S. Dragoons, Company C, for the Mexican War. He served under General Scott and received an honorable discharge in Jul 1848. He moved to Linn Co, KS, in 1858, although in May 1869 bought land in Franklin Twp, Grundy Co, IA.[CI:178:?3:CI].

Mary RAPE died in 1896.4
