Here are a few pics from the Co-operative Artisanale. Its a gift shop/museum/restaurant. There were alot of Acadian artifacts to see, crafts, and fine dining to be had there. The lady dressed in costume at the museum demonstrated for us how wool was carded and spun before it's used for knitting or hooking. She also gave my daughter and I a demonstration with the rug hooking and allowed us to work on a piece that she was doing. Everyone who visits this spot and works on this rug will be asked to put their name and address on a piece of paper that will be drawn at the end of the season. Whoever's name is picked will win this hooked rug that has been worked on by so many individuals from all over the country and other countries as well. Pretty cool, huh!

Here's the hooked mat that all visitors are welcomed to work on. It's about 30" by16" in size.
Be sure to check out this link to learn more about this wonderful place we visited.

Jessica with the hooker. She called herself that joking around and we laughed. She was very hospitable and I really enjoyed chatting with her.
The lady shows us how yarn is made from wool by using this spinning wheel. It was interesting.
Enjoy some other sites of beautiful Cape Breton. Lots of breathtaking photos to see.
