Irving E. Caswell and Bessie A. Furey
The following information was provided by Earl E. and Raymond L. Caswell, or is documented. (Thank you, Attleboro Public Library, cousins Terry and Evelyn, and many other online researchers!)
Irving Elsworth Caswell was born September 7, 1883 in Attleboro, Massachusetts to Herbert A. Caswell and Mary White Caswell. On what we are assuming is his birth record, his first name is listed as "Ellwyn (sp?)," but all other documents show "Irving." It is not currently known whether he changed his name before he was married, or whether his parents changed their minds about his given name in his childhood--or if we can ever PROVE that Ellwyn was turned into Irving.
Irving was married August 15, 1904 to Bessie Agnes (born Bridget Agnes) Furey with J. O'Connell, officiating. Bessie Furey was born in Ballaghaderreen, County Roscommon, Ireland in 1881. She emigrated from Ireland in 1899. Once again, we don't know if the name change was documented.

In 1913 city directory, Irving is listed under the name Irving E. This record shows he was "removed to Prov. RI by that date". (Son Earl was born in Providence, R.I. in 1911.)
In 1916 city directory, he is listed as Irving E., toolmaker, at his house on Thacher St. near West St.
Irving and Bessie's children:
Raymond Lexington Caswell, born on April 19, 1906.
Earl Ellsworth Caswell, born October 15, 1911.
Irving died on August 26, 1924 at a Boston, MA hospital, and is buried in Attleboro, MA.
