Once
I've taken my photos, I start with paper I make in my studio.
I begin with a cotton blend, form my sheets,
and hang them to dry.
The
words I write reflect what the image is saying to me, while the
embellishments and stitched paper satisfy my love to play creatively
and adds a completeness to my work.
In
the darkroom I coat my own hand-made cotton rag paper with a gelatin-
based silver nitrate solution. This makes my paper photo-sensitive
to black-and-white negatives. The image is exposed directly onto
my paper and developed, followed by a bath of toner.
