| Beginning in 1970 The Sturgeon Falls Judo Club became a Non-Profit organisation.
Club members would sell chocalate, pick up empty bottles etc.. to help pay the cost to go to the next tournament. |

| Newspaper article from 1969 - Sturgeon Falls Judo Club selling chocalate....North Bay Nugget |
| The small amounts of money (Monthly dues) collected from everyone, was
used to buy tatami, a scale, a weightlifting set and other stuff required for a Judo club. Everyone paid dues. |
| The Club was able to obtain the use of a large school bus for certain weekends; Judo tournaments & Clinics; from Roger Arcand of Nipissing Bus Lines. The vehicles where lent at no cost, as long as it was re-filled full of gas when we parked it after the trip. |
