Regis: Here comes a terrific actor; he earned an Academy Award nomination for his performance in 1999 in The Talented Mr. Ripley, remember that? And his latest project Road to Perdition is just fabulous, he plays a great character in that one. Here's Jude Law everybody! [Jude "struts" out onto the stage in a long sleeved, white V-neck shirt, semi-torn jeans, and "cowboy boots"; the crowd goes wild at his entrance. Jude shakes Regis' hand, and does the same with Kelly, only he kisses her gently on both cheeks.]

Kelly: So great to see you! Regis: This is the guy I've wanted to meet ever since I saw him in that Ripley movie! Kelly: The Talented Mr. Ripley! I wanted Jude to take me on a cruise around the Italian islands! Regis: And you can take me too while you're at it, WA HA! [audience laughs] Dickie! Dickie Greenleaf, right? Jude: Dickie Greenleaf, yeah.

Regis: Yeah, what a great character he was. Jude: [slightly sighs with a smile] Yeah... Regis: And now comes this guy. Jude: Harlan Maguire--a little different. Regis: A little different is right. Well, let's talk about you--so uh... thanks for dressing up for the show [points at his torn denim jeans--everyone laughs, including Jude], we really appreciate it, Jude. Jude: Well you know what, I'm about to play a uh... a cowboy-- Regis: Oh are you? Jude: --in my new movie. That's why I'm all beardy [strokes beard] and wearing jeans and boots and I'm really getting into it. Regis: An American cowboy with the British accent? Jude: No no, with a uh... North Carolinan accent. Regis: Can I hear a little bit of this-- Jude: I left the North Carolinan accent on the set! [laughs] I won't even go there!

Kelly: No, he's very good though, with the accents. I don't think I ever hear you act with an English accent. Regis: No, I didn't hear it in the Perdition movie... Jude: No no, it's not in Perdition, it's uh, it's Chi-CA-go [accentuates "ca" like "cay"]... uh, well I've done a couple of films--well, Gigolo Joe! When I was in A.I., I did it in my own accent. Regis: Artificial Intelligence. Jude: Yeah.

Regis: Absolutely. So [claps hands together and changes the subject] you live in London. Jude: Yes [nods head; seeming to perk up at the topic] Regis: Born and raised there. Jude: Yes. Regis: And your parents were school teachers. Jude: Yeah, they were. Regis: Now how did they feel about you going into acting? Jude: Well, they were school teachers who loved acting themselves. They took me to the theatre a lot, they took me to the movies a lot. And they knew it was a hobby that I was always gonna sort of see through. And so when the opportunity came up, they were brilliantly encouraging. And I guess they knew that there was always the--I was like 17, 18, and they knew there was always the option where I could go back if it all went pear-shaped [smiles]. Regis: Tell us more about your life. You married an actress. Jude: [nods] I married an actress, yeah. Regis: Sadie Frost. Have you worked together? Is that how you met? Jude: Yeah, we met at work. [smiles] Regis: No kidding! Jude: [still smiling] Yeah.
