(December 8th, 2003)
Jay: Alright, lets get right to it everybodymy first guest, extremely talented actor from London, his performance in The Talented Mr. Ripley earned him an Oscar nomination. His new movie is called Cold Mountain, it opens Wednesday, Christmas Day, does an amazing job. Please welcome Jude Law.
[Audience starts screaming and applauding as he does his world-famous Jude strut onto the stage. He comes out with a huge grin on his face, wearing jeans, a black blazer with what appears to be a black leather vest and white shirt underneath. He shakes hands with Jay, turns to the crowd, then waves and shouts Hello! He sits down as the audience continues to applaud him and scream]

Jay: Hey, there ya go! Got a lot of fans.

Jude: [looks to his right and mumbles Yeah, and looks back at Jay]

Jay: Well thanks for comingyou know I was afraid you might not make it. How was the weather in New York?

Jude: You were afraid? I was afraid I might not make it.

Jay: Yeah, yeah?

Jude: Nine inches of snow fell while I was in New York. We were in the middle of filming and it took two hours to get to work, so I thought it was at least gonna take two days to get here [Jay and audience laugh], but it didnt.

Jay: Well, yeah. Do you get much snowI know it gets cold in London, does it actually snow?

Jude: I remember growing up and every Christmas youd have snow.

Jay: Oh, okay.

Jude: And youd go sledding in the new year and uh there hasnt been snow there at Christmas for years now I dont know why that is though, but mind you it matches, theres no sun in the summer there either, so I guess its pretty much all the same.

Jay: The snow gets you in the Christmas spirit? Is that your sort of

Jude: It definitely gets me in the Christmas spirit!

Jay: Yeah, yeah, you like the snow, yeah?

Jude: Yeah the snow, the lights and yeah [grins], absolutely.

Jay: Yeah, I know Nicole Kidman was here the other night and shes Australian and she said Oh, the hotter it is, the closer it is to Christmas [Jude laughs] Which just seems [throws arms up] What is that?

Jude:
[smiling] Cold turkey sandwiches on the beach [makes a face like the whole idea is absurd]. Thats not Christmas for me [audience laughs].

Jay: When youre a kid, did you do the whole leave the cookies and milkwhat do they do in England?

Jude: Uh

Jay: Do they leave out some other

Jude: I used to leave out [grins really wide] mince pies

Jay: Mince pies

Jude: And, uh [still grinning]

Jay: Eh, I dont like those.
