Emperor Starscream
This is a costume I decided to do awhile back but never got the time to go around and acturally do it. The Starscream costume is based on the PVC figure from the Heroes of Cybertron collection. I'm going to try to explain how to make one in a way so that the robe and crown is removeable in case one just wants to go as plain ol' Starscream. It's not as great as some TF costumes out there, but it's way better than just card board strings and crayons or in some cases just aluminuim foil (you know who you are and shame on you). Anyways hope this helps those shameful ones know better and make a costume that at least shows that he or she put some effort in doing one. This will properlly take up three pages in this geocities site.
The supplies one will need to make this costume:

1.)   Lots of Card board boxes. The bigger the better in some what good condiction. I am broke but have the decentcy to at least ask people for good boxes that can be bent by me not by someone else. Why? Because boxes that are already bend might have a bend that may not suit ones type of body. I recommend theift stores. They tend to throw out tons of this stuff,

2.)  acrylic and lots of it. We're going to make this baby shine. For those who can affort it, after using acrylic go over with metalic colors with an airbrush paint. This will make your costume look like it was made out of metal rather than card board and plastic. Arcylic tends to be stronger than anything I have ever work with. The stuff could last forever. Go to the cheapest store to buy your stuff, but remember you get what you buy. Cheaper arcylic tends to be liquid thin and you'll be painting on your costume forever. Try finding paint that is thick but also doesn't leave a hole in your pockets. I usually buy my arcylics at Utrecht, but now I buy from Pearls because it's cheaper and the paint they carry might be thin but not liquid thin and it perfect for stuff like this. It's the same paint I used for doing the
Skywarp wings.

3.) Velcro and tons of it and I mean tons. It's better to have a lot then not enough of. This is what will your costume be easier to put on and take off. It's what will make the robe and crown removeable.
IT"S YOUR BEST FRIEND! :)  Buy lots of it.

4.) a measuring tape. Like the ones that seamtresses use for sewing. Yes there will be basic measuring. We want to make a nice fitted costume not a bulky one that will kill ones figure especially after one lost alot of weight from making the costume.

5.) pencil or better yet char coal. This is to mark the measures on the card board.

6.) scissors or whiling to pay more get a X-Acto Knife, without this you can't cut out the pieces. The X-Acto knife one could cut out the pieces better and faster, if got the strenght for it. Card board is thick.

7.) Ducktape.. THIS IS YOUR OTHER BEST FRIEND! :) This is what will hold together all the pieces. Buy lots of it. The bigger and thicker it is, the better your costume will stay in it's place.

Some sketches I did for this project. I recommend doing some research as well as some sketches as to how you would put together your costume.>>>>
