I was born in LaPaz, Bolivia. My father was a Bolivian national, Juan Ayllon-Valle, and my mother, Bessie Faye Doughty, an American with German, English and Irish ancestry.
I have two younger brothers, Pablo and Luis, as well as a half sister, Rose Marie, and half brother, Juan Tomas from a prior marriage of my father's. Pablo is a CNC operator, married and father of two girls and a boy. Luis is a chef and restaurant owner, married and father of two girls.
For the last nine years, I have been a high school teacher by trade. I teach business education. I am currently entertaining either becoming an art teacher or a school guidance counselor. Any day now, I expect to make finalize this decision and get on with the appropriate Masters program!
I also do some writing. Currently, I am a staff writer for the Internet site, the Cyber Boxing Zone. Addtionally, I have other writing related projects.
In addition to writing, I enjoy drawing and painting. As such, I have participated in several shows and actually managed to sell some of my work! Currently, I have a painting of Jazz guitarist Pat Metheny hanging at my brother's restaurant, Cab's Winebar Bistro, and plan on having additional paintings hanging there eventually.
I also serve run a disc jockey service on the side called Amplified Arts. Usually, it's a lot of fun. Being a lover of music, as well as quality events, the move to DJ'ing has been a good fit. I perform at weddings, parties, singles events, Murder Mysteries and play at select Thursday evening Young Adult Ministries post meeting gatherings at Harvest Bible Chapel-Rolling Meadows
in the Cornerstone Cafe room.
By faith, I am a Christian. I attend Harvest Bible Chapel-Vernon Hills. My faith is the single most important thing in my life. As Jesus once said, we are to love God with our whole heart, mind and strength. Needless to say, I am a work in progress! Thankfully, over time I sense that I am growing to become more the man that God desires me to be.
I am currently single, having gone through a divorce about six years ago. I do not have kids, but am the proud owner of two dogs, a greyhound named Miles and a weimeraner named Zoe! I attend various singles events in the area, enjoy the city, good jazz, movies, and fine dining.
I also work out locally, although not nearly as much as I should! Someday, I'll get down to my old "fighting weight." But, until then, I will slog on--alternatively-- in the relative obscurity of my living room couch and the confines of the local gym....
