~*~ Right by your side Chapter Two ~*~
Colleen Carlton
Colleen was in the passengers seat next to JT. She started to smile.
"What? What is it, Colleen?" JT asks.
"I was just thinking about the time you gave me my first driving lesson. Remember?"
"How could I forget? You only drove my car right into the ditch and it broke down. It was pouring rain and we had to run to the nearest farmhouse and sleep on the porch."
"I know. I thought my dad was going to kill me."
"You? No. He was going to kill me."
"Well, anyway, even though he still doesn't like you, I'm glad he at least lets me see you. You know what, JT? That day was a disaster, but it was amazing for me."
"Really? Driving into a ditch qualifies for amazing?"
"JT. You know what I mean. Being with you that day, stranded in the middle of no one in the rain, that was amazing. You kept me warm and safe. You protected me."
"Colleen, I love you. I will always protect you no matter what."
"I love you too."
"Colleen. You know I've hurt you so much and I don't know why you ever forgave me for all the stuff I've done, but i'm so thankful that you have. I would be miserable and a complete mess without you. But since you did forgive me, I've been the happiest guy in the world. I don't know what someone like you ever saw in me, but i'm glad your in my life."
"Don't put yourself down, JT. Your a great guy. Okay, your not perfect and you've made some mistakes. Everyone does. But I still love you for who you are and I always will." I says.
JT smiled. He quickly kissed her, but when he looked back at the road, a big truck was going straight toward him. This truck was out of control (obviously, a drunk driver), he turned the wheel, trying to miss it, but it was just too big and impossible to miss. The two cars collided and their was a crash.
JT Hellstrom
JT had been uncounscious for a few minutes, when he slowly woke up. What happened, he thought. Then it came back to him, the big truck. OMG. Colleen, he thought. He turned to his side. Colleen had a lot of scrapes and bruises, and she was bleeding uncontrollably. He saw the ambulance was starting to arrive. A standby must have already called.
"Colleen, honey. Everythings going to be okay. I promise. I will always protect you, like i said."
JT himself, only had a few scars and bruises, but they took him with in the ambulance. He didn't want to be checked out. He didn't want to be stuck on some hospital bed when he felt fine. Their was only one place where he wanted and needed to be. Right by Colleen's side.
When they finally got to the hospital, they put Colleen in this big room and they put him in another room, right down the hall. The nurse came in to see him.
"Hello, Mr. Hellstrom. How are you feeling?" the nurse asked.
"Great. Perfect. I'm fine. I don't need to be here. I need to be with Colleen."
"Her family will be here shortly. She doesn't need you. She'll be fine after some examinations-"
"No! She has even woken up yet. And did you say she doesn't need me? She loves me and I love her. I promised her that I would protect her and that's what I'm going to do."
"Not on my watch. You are going to get some rest. I will check on you shortly." the nurse said.
JT waited until she left. He knew he should listen to her, but he didn't care right then. All he cared about was Colleen. He quicly snuck out of his room and ran to Colleen's room. She was just laying there and she was still uncounscious.
