Presidents Remarks
As I reminisce,
I was astonished about how quickly the Iraqi war
ended. After massive air bombardments, the troops started to move
on the ground. Most soldiers on the news were the marines because
they were the front runners.
Each marine had to carry all his possession to
defend himself’ They didn’t carry nothing more, nothing less to
face each moment of his life, but they had a mission to achieve.
And what an achievement have they accomplished!
I was given a privileged position of the JTAT
president almost two years ago. As I watched the process of the
war, I felt I should evaluate my work which was entrusted to me.
First mission for me was to have communication
among the members. I saw the lack of communication everywhere;
in the family, in the school, among colleagues, etc. Thanks to
e-mailing system, cell phones, and enthusiastic participation of
officers, I have tried to reach out to members and many of you
responded to me. The results were fantastic because we got to know
each other better.
After communication, I changed my mission to connection.
Without connecting with each other, the JTAT may not possess a
strong voice. A teacher commented about Nengajo certificates sent
to the individual school principal. The principal didn’t know such
state activities were going among Japanese language students. This
is the connection of people bonding together to accomplish our
goal in order to help Japanese language students to be in cultural
diversity society.
