The Still Family History and Tree

The Still family name is first found in Wiltshire, where they held a family seat from ancient times. The name, originally Stille, was a tenant in Wiltshire prior to the taking of the Domesday Book in 1086 A.D.

In the 1600s, the Still family received a land grant in South Carolina by The King of England, His Majesty James II. Today, there are several familes and clans with the name Still found in the state, mostly concentrated in southern South Carolina.

The Dewey Still line began with the birth of Dewey Still in 1925 in Greenville, South Carolina.
