Campanile di San Marco
The clock tower and the campanile, or bell tower, of the St. Mark's Basilica both provide marvelous views of Venice and the Grand Canal. The clock tower is currently undergoing construction, but we did get a chance to ascend the campanile. And if you ever get a chance to do the same, be sure to thank the deities. The campanile has ELEVATORS! Yes, instead of slogging up 600-something steps, you get to the view by ways of a large, air-conditioned elevator.
