Santa Maria del Fiore
Perhaps more well-known as "Il Duomo" (certainly to Lecterphiles), del Fiore is one of the centers of Florence. Famous architechture here includes Brunelleschi's double dome, Giotto's campanile, one of the most beautiful bell towers in the world, and the golden doors of the Baptistry. The surrounding buildings were never knocked down to build Il Duomo, so one comes upon it quite suddenly.
