Zeta Alpha Alumni Newsletter-April 2009

Brothers & Friends:

Hopefully everyone is having a great Easter or Passover. Just think. Only two more months and the 17th Annual Zeta Alpha Golf Outing will be here. The date is Saturday June 13 and will be held at Tam O Shantor golf Course in Hermitage PA. If you plan on golfing this year, please start getting your team together. We have 32 spots reserved this year. Some brothers have already sent me their list.

The plans are still in the works to rent out "343 Normal Ave" in Slippery Rock that Saturday night after the golf gathering. I have also been in contact with brother Bill Carr owner of "Luigi's Restaurant" about having dinner catered or just waking down to his place to eat. If you haven't been to Slippery Rock recently, they now have two bars (Ginger Hill Tavern & North Country Brewing) which are both on Main Street. After dinner, we can do some visiting of the new establishments.

So start getting those Clubs polished up, and get ready for another great golf outing. We still will have the after golf award presentation at the course (tail-gate party).

In Alumni News from the last several months

Brother George Swanson checked in. He enjoyed the "When we were Young" video.

Jack Shivitts sent an email. Jack is living in Greensburg PA, and is thinking about attending the golf outing this summer.

Another 80's brother, Glenn Weather's email me, he also enjoyed the Video which brought back some good memories. He hopes to attend the golf outing.

Chuck Faulkner and Dennis Angeline have sign our guess book at the Zeta Alpha Web site. Dennis sent his greetings from Seattle Washington. Good to hear from both of you.

Bonnie (Besser) Lipomi sends her greetings from South Carolina. She has a new job and is loving living in SC.

One sad note. Sean Kearney's twin brother Brian passed away last month. Brian went to Clarion and would make his way to "The Rock". I had the pleasure one summer afternoon to attend an outdoor concert with Brian and Ed Kostial in Ohio. The day was very memorable. The sun popped out when the show began and as we walk into the front gate, we bumped into Ron Rusank and Al Legge with their group, they had a galvanized tub with keg. Needless to say, Dickey Betts never sounding any better! I had a great time with Brian that day, and will always hold on to that memory. Rest in Peace Brian.

Well another newsletter is finished, As I mentioned in past newsletter, any photos or stories please send them to me either by email or regular. I always looking for new material.
