Zeta Alpha Alumni Newsletter-January 2009

Brothers & Friends:

Well 2009 has begun and I hope the New Years has started out good for everyone! Being early in the year, the wheels have already start turning for the 2009 golf outing. If you don't already have it marked down, This years Alumni event will be held on Saturday June 13th.

The plans are in the works for us to rent out "343 Normal Avenue" for Saturday night June 13th. That's right! Theta Chi's having our old house back for a night. Rod Nicholson knows the person who owns the house, and Chuck Boylan has been in contact with the owner in the last week. It's looking very good for us having the house for that night.

I have also been in contact with brother Bill Carr owner of Lugi's restaurant down the street from the house, about having dinner at his place that night. He has marked the date down in his calender and more details also will be forthcoming. We have had the Alumni Outing dinner at his place a few years ago.

If we can secure the house, the possibility are endless for a great evening. Chuck said if we are able to get the house, those who choose to spend the night in it, would need to bring a sleeping bag. If you don't want to ruff it, Grove City offers several hotels. Plus, there's always the Evening Star.

Stay tune for more upcoming Newsletters on details about the 2009 golf outing.

In Alumni News from the last several months

Brother Bill Hawk passed away on October 24, 2008 against his battle with cancer. Bill had attended several Alumni golf outing. He never golfed, but was a member of the roving gallery. A few years back, I had the opportunity to be in the same cart with Bill. He was a unique person, and I'm glad to have had opportunity to get to know him.

Brother Dave Stotka recently signed our quest book on our Alumni Website. He's looking at the possibility of attending the Alumni golf Outing in June.

Brother M Sonny Tashbar "The Falcon" also signed the quest book, and sends greetings from South Florida.

I have also Updated some e-mail addresses at on our website. If you name doesn't appear or the e-mail address is incorrect let me know.

That's it for the January Newsletter. If you have any old photos or stories you want to share in upcoming Newsletters please e-mail me. I'm always looking for new material.

Alma Mater first, and Theta Chi for Alma Mater
