Poseidon was a powerful god.  He was the god of horses and of the sea.  He made many enemies because of his reactions to visitors to his waters.  Poseidon could do anything with horses from producing them to changing their physical and mental attributes.  The gods prowess over the sea ranged from stirring up storms to providing peaceful weather.  Poseidons symbol was the triang.

If I had Poseidons powers, I would feel in control, feared, worshipped, and powerful on both horse and boat.  When I loped on horseback in Wyoming, I was slightly uncomfortable.  If I had Poseidons powers, I would have been completely calm.  I am a good canoeist; after all, Stern is my middle name.  If I had Poseidons powers, I would be even better; I would be the best canoeist in the world.   On the ocean, ship captains would do their best to please me.

Poseidons powers would enable me to achieve great feats.   When a coastal storm warning was issued for Westchester, I could control the storm so that it minimized real danger but still kept schools closed.  I could keep beaches from being eroded where I vacation.  For payment, I would guarantee good weather at sea.  As god of horses, I would control horses flatulence so riders would not have to endure this unpleasantness.  I would make horses pull caravans faster and more easily, especially the horse and caravan I rode in for a week inthe summer of  2000 on the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland that plodded a distance in a day that a bus could cover in 15 minutes.  I would be gratified to possess Posiedons power, but I am content to remain a mortal lacking them.
