Moose
In the winter months, the moose can be seen everywhere.  They will come right into town to munch on small trees and shrubbery.  It is pretty funny to see the things people put on their trees and shrubs to discourage the moose munching.   Moose  will walk right up onto people's porches, or bed down by their back doors.  Sometimes they are alone, and sometimes there are more than one.  All of the moose pictures below are taken within a two-day period.   As we sped along a road, I would holler, "STOP!!! MOOSE!!!!!"  so that I could take pictures.  I saw many, many moose.  These are some of the better pictures.
Ever since I saw a video of a moose in Anchorage kicking a man to death, I am very cautious around them.  I just open the car window to take pictures.
One evening we went to a restaurant in Funny River.  It was down a long, long winding road, and Funny River consists of...well, the restaurant.  On the to and from we saw SO many moose that my family was rolling their eyes when I would beg to stop and photograph them.
What do you think this moose is thinking?
No, this is not Satan moose.  We were on our way home from the Funny River restaurant when I photographed this moose.  I used my flash, and was surprised to see that their eyes glowed in the photo.
Here are two pictures each with two moose in them.  They were taken at two completely different places.  Sometimes a whole group of moose will bed down in one area.
Erin has a cute two-bedroom apartment with a deck outside of her studio (where she teaches instrument lessons).  One night as we were getting ready to play a game together, Erin went out the deck door to let Max do his doggie thing.  She keeps him on a leash, so she has to stand with him.  It was dark, and she got down to the bottom of the stairs, and she heard a snort.  A big old moose was about ten feet away from her, and started moving toward her.  She screeched and grabbed the dog and ran into the house.  That moose bedded down right next to her apartment building.  I stood on the deck (couldn't see the moose too well in the dark) and put the flash on and took the picture.  What I got was this picture--two shiny eyeballs looking back at me.
