A Tribute to Farmers and Country Folks

By: Jason Sinkhorn

We live so far out in the sticks ya see
We can't even get satellite TV
I can't get service on a cell phone
We're so far out, we're barely known.
No street lights around or anywhere near,
Bug zappers and candles are what you'll find here.
If ya drive fast through here, night or day,
You're bound to hit a deer or tractor along the way.
There's not a lot of traffic or passers-by,
So we sit and watch the quiet night sky.
And another thing we can't figure out,
What's ww dot com stuff all about?
We get our tans from work and play in the sun,
You sit in a bed until a timer says you're done.
You have tropical fish in a box of water made of glass,
We have streams and ponds full of catfish and bass.
You have purified water filters on your tap,
We drink well water that tastes like crap.
I don't know a lot about what you city folks do,
But here's something that I can tell you,
I know how to plant and harvest a field.
I know it takes hard work to get a good yield
So you can put food on your table at night,
And try to give everyone a chance to eat right.
