Exploratory Study of the Relationship Between Knowledge of Roots and Derivational System and Reading Comprehension and General Proficiency in Classical Arabic
Several examples of work are located on this site. Oral Business is a suite of modules developed for intermediate level business students and professionals (TOEFL 400-500). The lack of appropriate texts on the market was the catalyst for this foray into e-learning. The examples show how materials can be tailored for specific purposes, either pedagogical, professional or even according to student interests. These pages, though reading and listening based, provide a platform to add activities covering all skills. What is of particular interest, is the ability to incorporate audio from a remote site. This means that a school can provide native speaker audio to virtually any suitably equipped computer in the world. To use this feature go to the Stock Market link and select the links for Listen to Part One, Two and Three. If you cannot receive audio, your computer is missing any or all of the following: sound card, speakers and MP3 player. Links on the Oral Business page have been disabled. To view actual materials click on the "Stock Market" link below. The Stock Market module serves as a viewable sample.
There are dead links on this page as I have not had to reason to update this page recently.
The E-Learning PreMBA is a a module from a high-level business professional course. Originally, the program was conceived for international distance learning and developed for the WebCT platform. Students would be based off campus and usually outside of the U.S. It is included here primarily to show the value of e-learning as an asynchronous tool of instruction. Instructors and participants do not need to be in the same room or even time zone, which under certain circumstances, can be a tremendous advantage.
The Professional Financial Analyst Program serves primarily to showcase education program planning capabilities. In this case I was providing a model for a program for the Brazilian Association of Financial Analysts (ABAMEC).
