NO PROFANITY

I think it’s a good book for girls to read because it has a positive message at the end. It is helpful for teens because the moral is not to lie and the bigger the lie gets the more trouble you get in.

Dymond in the Rough is a story about a 14-year-old girl named Dymond and she lives with her mother and sees her father once a month because he has a gambling problem. She thinks it she is ready for a boyfriend and her mom says she should wait.

Dymond has a cousin named Kera who has a boyfriend named Manny and Kera and her friend Porsha keep tell Dymond that it is time for her to start dating and so the pressure begins…

One Saturday Dymond and her mom went to the library so she started to research Lyndon B. Johnson for her history report. When she was putting away some book she bumped into a boy named Kyle Banks and they fall in love. They make arrangements to see each other next Saturday.

When she talks to her friends they talked about him and suggest that she meet him at the ball game on Friday. She ends up lying to her mom and says she in going over Kera’s house.

At school she is doing worse. She, Kera and Porsha get into a fight with a girl named Morgan because she was going with Kera’s boyfriend Manny. And she never got finished her history report so she copies someone else’s report. Man things are getting deep…

One day she got to see Kyle at school. When she sees him they start to talk. While she was there she missed her bus and to ride with Porsha. Guess who is there? And you can only imagine what happened in her bedroom. You have to read this book but parents need not to worry because it doesn’t get over heated. Remember this is a book written for kids.

When it is Friday they go to the game and Kyle teams win. While enjoying the game, Dymond is spotted by her mother’s friend…BUSTED!!!

The author did a good job on keeping the reader’s attention and you will turn the pages without hesitation. I was impressed that Dymond’s mother showed the love that she did for her daughter even though she was strict!!!

Ms. Precious definitely took the cake when she added words that we would not be familiar with in the back of the book and she also included chapter questions that you can discuss with your parents and friends that would be reading the book.

I liked the cover and I enjoyed the book very much. I look forward to book 2 and I know that you will as well…
