“What the fuck?” Lance mouthed over his shoulder at Joey.
Joey shrugged and took a sip of his gin and tonic. “Don’t know dude. Looks like they know each other. And it looks like AJ is gonna shit a brick of they don’t let go of each other.”
Arianna stared at the pair clinging to each other. Her deep brown eyes narrowed in confusion and her full pink mouth hung open in shock. Shifting her weight back she folded her arms over her chest.
Justin pulled back from Alexis’ embrace and gripped her forearms. “Oh my gawd Alexandra. I had know idea that YOU were the Alexis Rae. I mean, wow, Alex. It’s just so good to see you.” He hugged her again, a little surprised at the immediate comfort he felt in her arms.
Laughing Alexis stepped back and grabbed his hand. “We’ve got so much to catch up on.” The couple headed to a table and sat down, both trying to speak at the same time.
JC grabbed Arianna’s arm and jerked her around, “What the hell is going on AJ?”
“I don’t know,” mumbled Arianna, silently cursing the tears that filled her eyes. “It looks like they know each other,” she glanced over her shoulder to see they were still oblivious to everyone around them, “and don’t give a flying fuck about us.” Jerking her arm from JC’s grasp she hurried over to where Caitlin was standing on the dance floor talking to Karyann. Grabbing Caitlin’s arm she flashed a smile at Karyann and led Caitlin out into the cool Orlando night.
“What the hell AJ?” Caitlin demanded, rubbing her arm where Arianna’s fingers had left a red mark.
“Sorry Cat,” Arianna said, tucking a chunk of her hair behind her ear. “How does Justin know Alexis?”
“What?” Caitlin asked. Her brow furrowed in confusion. “I don’t know what you’re talking about AJ.”
“Come on Caitlin. Didn’t you see them in there? He kept calling her Alexandra!” Arianna wiped at her eyes furiously. Tears stung them and now was not a time for her to break into tears.
Caitlin’s chin dropped slightly and she stared at Arianna for a moment. “Wait, she’s Alexandra Taylor?”
“I guess.” Arianna shrugged.
“Oh my gawd.” Caitlin shook her head. “Wow.”
Arianna glared at her, “Yah, wow. Who the fuck is she Cat?”
“His best friend and,” she paused as she stared at AJ knowing that the emotional girl wouldn’t take the next part well. “his first love.”

Alexis smiled at Justin coyly. “I still can’t believe you’re here J. I’ve missed you so insanely.” She cast her eyes downward shyly. “You were my everything and a part of me has been missing ever since your family moved.”
“I know Alex. I’ve felt the same way,” Justin held her hand in his and gently ran his thumb along her palm. “Why do you go by Alexis Rae now?”
She shrugged, “I don’t know. My friends started calling me Alexis in high school and then when I became a hardcore dancer the Rae stuck too.”
“You’re still my Alex though,” winked Justin.
Alexis laughed, “And you’re still my J.”
“Actually he’s AJ’s J and you’re here with JC,” Caitlin said, setting her hand on Justin’s shoulder her blue eyes daring his to argue with her. She cocked her head and looked at Alexis. “I don’t know much about you except what J here has told me but from what I’ve seen tonight you need to realize that you’re not God’s gift and the world doesn’t revolve around you.” She whipped her head, her hair flying to look back at Justin. “And you are coming with me.”
Justin waited until they were outside before he skidded to a halt. “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT CAITLIN?”
Caitlin put her hands on her hips, not about to back down. “What the hell was that about Justin? Did you forget that your GIRLFRIEND was here? Or the fact that Alexis came with your BEST FRIEND?” She paused long enough to suck air through her teeth before continuing with her ranting. “Look Justin I know Alexis Rae was your first love and childhood best friend but how do you think AJ feels? Do you even care that she left in a cab terrified that the man she loves wants to drop her without a second thought because his first love came back to him. I know I’m not the age’s because fan but c’mon Justin no one deserves to feel like that.”
“I know,” Justin stared at his shoes. “But Cat, I haven’t seen Alex in forever. And I can’t even began to explain the feelings I had when I realized it was her.”
Caitlin shook her head, “No Justin. That’s not good. You need to explain them. Just not to me. First to yourself, and then to AJ and then finally to Alexis.” With a final hard look at him she turned on her heel and headed back into the club flashing a flirty smile at the cute bouncer manning the door.
