Chapter 14

"Uh huh.. right. Ya I know! Seriously though! Yea." Tiffany was talking on the phone with Nina. It's funny when women talk on the phone. Its always "one of them doing the talking, and the other one listening." I call it "gossip." Although Tiff always tells me, "women dont gossip, they 'discuss.'" Whatever. Women, especially Nina and Tiffany, "discuss" a little too much.
"Alright, see ya hun. Bye." Tiffany said, finally hanging up the phone.
"Its about freakin time!" I said, grabbing the phone dialing JC's number. I haven't been that close to JC lately, and I thought I'd call him up and see if he wanted to hang out. I hope he doesn't fall for me.
"Yo.." Jc said, he seemed to be out of breathe.
"Hey Jace.. you ok?" I giggled. I knew what he was up to.
"Oh, I'm fine.." he said. "I'm just sitting her hanging out with Lance."
"Riiight." I said, teehee. It was so funny when I called Jc or Lance, and they were with each other, trying to hide what they were really doing. "Well, I was wondering if you were busy tonight?"
"Um.. Justin. I'm involved with Lance." He informed me, as if I didn't know.
"No!! I just thought me, you, Lance, Joey, and Chris can go hang out tonight, at a bar or something, for ole' times sake."
"Sure, sounds good to me."

"Hey Nina.." Joey walked into Nina's house. Although they had a baby together, they didn't live together. They were like best friends now, just walk into each other's houses.
"Hey Joe." Nina said, as she came out of the bedroom with a laundry basket full of clothes. "What's goin on?" she said as she sat down and started folding the clothes.
"Just wanted to come over and see Vanessa." he said, and he helped Nina fold the clothes of their baby.
"Just Vanessa?" Nina teased.
Joey smiled at her. He still kinda had a thing for her, but he knew nothing could become of it.
The music of Joey's cell phone disturbed his thoughts, "Ya?"
"Joe, it's me Justin!"
"Oh! Hey buddy! Wassap?"
"Nothin really Joe, whatcha doin tonight? You busy?" I asked, eagar to spend time with my long time friends.
"I'm gonna watch Vanessa, Nina has a meeting," he said, "why?"
"Damn! We're all going out! Me, Lance, Jc, and I still gotta call Chris. Is it okay if Tiffany watches Vanessa? And you can come with us?"
"Hmm.." Joey thought, "lemme see if its okay with Nina."
As I waited for him to come back, my call waiting beeped, someone was on the other line. I just waited for Joey to return. "Hey Joe, hold on, call waiting.. Hello?"
"Hey hey hey!!!!" Chris exclaimed.
"Hey Chris! Hold on just a sec.." I clicked back to Joey. "Joe?"
"Ya man, Nina said it's okay for Tiffany to watch Vanessa. I'll bring her over in about an hour. Is that cool?"
"Yup! See ya tonight." I clicked back to Chris. "Hey man, wassap."
"Not much.." he started, "except for.. I'M ENGAGED!!!!!"
I was so excited for him. He had a long time thing for Amy, and always dreamed about becoming a husband, and some day a father. I told him about us hanging out tonight, and he agreed to join us. This was a great thing to celebrate. It would be like a mini-bachelor party!

"..then she said, 'of course I will Chris.'"
"You dog you!" Joey yelled, patting him on the back. We were all having such an awesome time, drinking, laughing, grunting like animals.
"This is great! We haven't hung out like this for ages." Lance said, taking a gulp of his drink.
"I know dude!" I agreed.
"Everything changes when you become a man." Chris commented.
"How would you know!" Joey teased.
I wish that we could do this more often. I miss my friends.

"Hey, how was your meeting?" Tiffany asked, as Nina walked in to pick up Vanessa.
"It was good. Boring. Just another meeting." She giggled. "Was Vanessa any trouble?"
"Not at all." Tiffany responded. "Slept the entire time."
"Awesome." Nina said, picking up Vanessa.
"What's on your mind?" Tiffany asked Nina.
"What? Nothing silly." Nina said, rocking Vanessa.
"Nina, we became incredibly close this past year. We're like sisters. I know when something's up."
"Really?" Nina said
"Yes, really. Now tell me, who's the guy?"
